A Quick Mini

TGIF! It has been one long and exhausting week at work. I am looking forward 5pm and the weekend will finally be here!

Recently I decided to challenge myself and create a mini album from scratch. I started selecting these little mini folders from Webster's Pages Plum Seed and Citrus Squeeze collections.

I then glued the mini folders together.

Here is what the min album looks like after the sides are glued together.

Then it was time to go to town and add papers, embellishments, and pictures to the mini album. I used a picture my daughter drew to decorate the cover.

I had a blast putting this together! It was sooooo easy! I plan on making many more minis in the future to document things like birthdays and special events.

Cleaning and Organizing

I have been knee deep in paper lately. My poor scrappy supplies have been in some desperate need of organization. Although I am still far from being done, I am happy with my progress so far.

As I was sorting though my paper, I found a few Pebbles papers I bought and never had time to play with. So, of course, I had to stop and taking a break from sorting papers and create something instead.

To spice up the flowers a bit, I added a liquid pearl to the centers. I am currently addicted to this stuff! I have been adding it to almost all of my layouts I have created lately. It's so relaxing to sit there and dot away!

I just can't believe how big my girl is getting! She finally is letting me take pictures of her again. She went though this stage where she refused to let me take a picture of her. I am so happy that was sort lived!

One Crazy Week

It has been one crazy stressful week in my household. My youngest gave me a scare. She started getting blisters all over her body that were spreading like crazy and itching her. She was so miserable and if it wasn't for the chicken pox vaccine she received as a baby, I would have thought that is what she had. When I took her to the doctor, it turns out she came in contact with poision ivy somewhere and she had a bad reaction to it! Holey moley! After a steroid shot and some meds, she is finally on the mend and is no longer riddled with bumps. I was so relieved that it was nothing serious! It is so scary when your kids are sick. Makes my heart hurt. Ok. Now onto our regularly scheduled program...

Today I wanted to share a layout I created with the new Memories Captured collection. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and see how many patterned papers I could fit on my page without feeling like it's crowded. This is what I came up with...

This collection is a blast to play with. I especially love the chalkboard items! This month the Fancy Pants Design Team also received some fun items from Maya Road to play with. I immediately fell in love with the star stick pins.

What is your scrapbooking style? What makes you feel like you are out of your comfort zone?

Ephemera Love

Happy Tuesday everyone! It looks like the storms have finally passed my neck of the woods and the heat has been turned on to scorching! It's expected to get up into the 100s! Summer is definitely here!

Today I wanted to share with you one of my all time favorite loves - ephemera packs. I just love them! There are so many fun little tidbits packed into these powerful packs! For this layout, I dug out most of the numbers as well as some photo corners to create a pattern on the right side of my layout.

After adding some paint and cardboard hearts, the layout is complete!

What are your favorite products to use at the moment?

SFTIO Blog Hop

Welcome to the SFTIO Design Team Blog Hop! We are showcasing layouts by the current design team using the June kit TRANSFORMATION. If you are just arriving at my blog, make sure you go to the beginning at Melissa's blog as you won't want to miss out on all the gorgeous inspiration. This hop is special as we say goodbye to some very wonderful ladies, who have been part of the SFTIO family for over a year and will continue to be forever family. We are also saying HELLO to our new TEEN COLLECTIVE.

What is a "Teen Collective"? We are combining the Teen Designers from CreateU with our Design Team at SFTIO. This is a wonderful opportunity to have each of these girls give their perspective of the monthly emotion. Each Teen Designer will be joining us for one month as a Guest Designer but, will be a constant and active "voice" on our website and forum. Ready to begin?

I had so many ideas for transformation, but one in particular hit home. I created this layout in the wake of all the tornadoes that have been happening in Oklahoma. I live not too far away from the devastation in Moore. A about a week prior to the Moore disaster, we had extremely bad weather hit town. I had a bad feeling that day so I left work a few minutes early. Not too long after getting in my car, the tornado sirens went off. I started to panic. My kids were in two different locations and I frantically tried to figure out how I was going to get them and myself, to a safe location. I was able to get both of my daughters and by then, the skies were pitch dark and the rain started to pour.

Instead of going home, I went straight to my best friend's house to seek shelter. I will be forever grateful to her for that. We all gathered in her storm shelter as the wind rush by and the rain came down in buckets. And just like that, it was over. The skies still looked scary but the threat of tornadoes  had passed. We did have a few funnels that almost hit the ground. One did but only did minor damage to a building. After this, it made me realize what is really important in life and what is only trivial. I am extremely grateful that it was not worse than what it was.

As symbolic elements on my page, I used the white flower and feathers to symbolize a clean slate and how fragile life can be. The mist drops symbolize rain and a sad heart. OK. Enough sad talk for now. Let's move on to something a little more cheerful!

We also have a fabulous prize! Leave a comment below letting me know what transformation means to you or anything else you would like to share by Saturday, 9 p.m. pacific time. Make sure to leave a comment on each blog to increase your chances of winning! The winner will be announced by Monday on Facebook and the SFTIO blog.

Thanks for swinging by! Make sure to visit Scrapbooking from the Inside Out. We have a FREE Inspiration Page giving you loads of ideas using our current emotion, a welcoming forum and you can grab your own kit here

Next on your hopping adventure is Andie.

School's Out for the Summer!

It has been two weeks since the last day of school and there is no rest for the weary! My oldest daughter already can't wait for the next school year to start. She is looking forward to her favorite subject, math, and being introduced to her first science. Here is a picture of Aryanna practicing her spelling words during the school year.

I used the fun Citrus Squeeze collection from Webster's Pages. I just can't get enough of this collection!

Lately I have been having fun with my scoring board to create these fun little circle embellishments.

During the summer, I buy her workbooks to practice on during the summer. She devours them! What do you do to keep your kids "in the know" during the summer break?
