SFTIO Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the SFTIO Design Team blog hop! We're celebrating a few things here. First, I have a layout to share with you using our July kit COMMUNICATION. Second, we've got some wonderful new additions to our design team and we want you to get to know them even better. Finally, we've got a little peek of the August kit for you. Woohoo!

Here is one of my layouts I created with the Communication kit. The topic of this layout is about the stress of mommyhood. How sometimes you let things slip and you need to realize that it's ok. No one is perfect. You just have to pick up the pieces and move on to better days. I really enjoyed the communication topic this month.

Sooo...who would like to win an awesome prize? I know I would! Check out what you can win from this blog hop!

All you need to do for a chance to win this prize is to visit all the blogs on the blog hop and make sure to leave a comment. You have until NINE p.m. PACIFIC TIME Sunday, July 29th. The winner will be announced on the SFTIO blog and Facebook sometime in the following week. If you would like to see what Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is all about make sure to visit our community (forum), Facebook and Inspiration Page. How about a sneak of the Escape kit? Here is just a little teaser.

The next stop on the blog hop is Jen's blog! If you are started at my blog, please visit the first stop of the hop at Melissa's blog! Enjoy!

Riddled with Holes

As scrappers, we always have leftover pieces of paper lying around when using a kit. When I was playing with the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out Communication kit, I punched out a bunch of different circle elements from the book paper. LOVE that paper but then again I love anything with script on it. I used the circles to complete this layout.

I was staring at this pretty paper riddled with holes and I had an idea! Why not use it for my next layout about communication issues! Perfect accent piece! It can symbolize holes in communication! Viola! The next layout was born!

The next time you have a scrap piece of paper leftover from your kit, take a second look at it. Maybe, just maybe, it might be a perfect fit for your next layout!

Swoon

I am doing the happy dance over here. In just a few days I’ll be in Chicago and seeing all the new scrappy goodies in person. I am really looking forward to seeing the new items from Webster’s Pages, like these…

These flowers are just too stinking cute!

With Halloween around the corner, these are just perfect!

But alas, I digress. I just love Webster's Pages so much that I had to share a few of my favorite additions. Make sure to stop by the website to check out all the new collections!

I also can’t wait to see the new Crate Paper, Pink Paislee, Dear Lizzy, Jenni Bowlin, and the list goes on! I’ll be taking lots of pics and posting them when I get back.

Right now I am waiting for a happy mail package to arrive. I can't wait to start playing with the new goodies! Unfortunately I won't be able to show you what I create until after I get back from CHA but, to tide you over, here is a page I created for Scrapbooking From the Inside Out about my silly communication quirks.

Happy Creating!

A Little Bit of Communication

The July kit over at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is a super fun one! It's called Communication. I had a ton of fun with this kit! You can purchase yours here.

One of my favorite elements from the kit was the Polaroid chipboard. I used it as part one of the main focal points on my layout.

In other news, I have started working on my second costume for DragonCon. The season 2 Daenerys costume. This one to be exact.

I have never worked with leather before nor made a costume pattern from scratch. Keep your fingers crossed that I can create a decent version of this costume. We shall see. I'll post progress pictures as I have them. As to the Steampunk Poison Ivy costume, it is not complete yet. I put it aside for now since I am stuck on how to complete the skirt portion.

Happy super weekend!
